Japanese photographer Shinji Otani and myself are working on a new collaborative project. We recognise a similar state of mind in each other’s work, this seems good enough reason for our new project OTANI NIEUWENHUIZE. For this project we look into Japanese and Dutch culture and into cultural tourism. We visited the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and De Efteling already. In two weeks from now we will be flying to Japan to visit theme park Huis ten Bosch and the historic site of the former Dutch trading post Dejima in Nagasaki. We will also visit the shrines of Dazaifu Tenman-gū in Dazaifu on Kyushu.
